FORMER Oxfordshire batsman George Munsey put in a man-of-the-match display to help Scotland reach the T20 World Cup.

The Oxford-born opener smashed 65 of 43 balls as his country beat the United Arab Emirates by 90 runs in the Dubai play-off.

Munsey, who started his career at Cumnor CC, put on 87 for the first wicket with captain Kyle Coetzer, before falling to a brilliant boundary catch with the score on 109.

His teammates hauled Scotland to 198/6 at the end of their 20 overs, with Munsey then making two catches as the UAE fell to 108 all out.

It will be Munsey's second T20 World Cup, after he represented his country in the 2017 tournament.

He attended the Dragon School in Oxford and qualifies for Scotland through residency.
