EDDIE Pepperell enjoyed a superb second day at the Portugal Masters to put himself right in contention.
After an opening four-under-par round, the Abingdon golfer today recorded a five-under 66 in Vilamoura to lie hot on the heels of clubhouse leader Brandon Stone.
Pepperell, who started at the tenth, again birdied his opening hole.
He collected another shot at his sixth before an eagle two holes later saw him climb into a share of the lead.
Another birdie followed at his 12th, before six pars followed in a fine round.
