EDDIE Pepperell just did enough to make the cut at the Italian Open – but is well adrift of the leaders.
The Abingdon golfer struggled in the European Tour event in Rome, firing a one-over second-round.
It saw him narrowly secure his place in the latter stages.
After a one-under opening round, Pepperell parred his first six holes.
He then bogeyed the seventh before another seven pars followed.
That left him on the brink of missing the cut, but a birdie at the 16th booked his spot in the final two rounds, despite another bogey at the 18th.
