EDDIE Pepperell will be hoping for a return to form when he takes part in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The Abingdon golfer had a torrid time at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth last week, easily missing the cut after finishing his opening two rounds on 11 over.
Pepperell partners former South African cricketer AB de Villiers for the unique format in Scotland, which gets under way this morning.
Pairs play three courses over three days, with the event incorporating two separate competitions – an individual professional tournament and a team event.
The leading 60 professionals and ties, along with the 20 lowest scoring pro-am teams, then return to the Old Course for the final day’s action.
Pepperell and de Villiers tee off at Carnoustie today (10.17), taking on Bernd Wiesberger and ex-England cricketer Kevin Pietersen.
The duo then play against Rory McIlroy and his father, Gerry, at Kingsbarns tomorrow (9.11) before facing Danny Willett and Mohammed Farooq (11.01) at St Andrews on Saturday.
