ELLIOTT Moore reflected on a night to remember as Oxford United produced a ruthless performance to down West Ham United 4-0.

The defender returned to the starting line-up after recovering from a back spasm and set the U's on the road to victory in the Carabao Cup third round with his 55th-minute opener.

His inclusion was one of six changes to the side that started Saturday's 6-0 win over Lincoln City, while Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini made eight changes to his team.

But Moore insisted that the respect shown to United's Premier League opponents was key to a cup shock that set up a fourth round tie at home to Sunderland.

He said: "Whichever team they put out was going to be strong.

"We had to concentrate throughout the whole 90 minutes and Easty's [Simon Eastwood] made a great save at the end.

"I've never played in a game of this magnitude before, so to come away with a result, a clean sheet and a goal to top it off is always nice.

Moore's goal was his first at the Kassam Stadium and the centre back admitted he savoured the moment.

He said: "It was a nice feeling scoring in front of the fans and I think the celebration topped it off."
