WITNEY maintained their 100 per cent record in Southern Counties North with a 36-13 win over Chesham.

The visitors took a surprise lead when they touched down after seven minutes, but tries from Arron Lambourne and Matthew Clarke put Witney 10-8 ahead at half-time.

The hosts streaked away in the second period, with Rhys Morgan, Rob Coe and Matthew Webb all scoring.

A lapse in concentration from the hosts saw Chesham go over again but Witney had the final say, as another Morgan try and Oliver Toner’s third conversion rounded off a bonus-point win.

A spirited second-half showing from Bicester failed to prevent a 41-19 defeat at Aylesbury.

The visitors were 24-0 down at the break, with Aylesbury adding two more tries after half time.

Dan Walker touched down for Bicester’s first points of the afternoon before Aylesbury crossed again, but a penalty try and Tom Harwood’s score saw the visitors finish strongly.

The defeat leaves Bicester without a point after their first two games.

Hosts Wallingford beat Didcot 25-17 in their Oxfordshire derby.

Grove dominated the second half of their Southern Counties South clash against Devizes to win 42-22.

Two early penalties and a Steve Dixey try gave Grove an 11-10 lead at half time, before four scores in 20 minutes after the break made the points safe.

Guy Nichol scored two tries, with Luke Matthews and Kieran Lambourne also touching down, while Ollie Nichol and Ali McCarthy added a penalty and four conversions between them.
