CHRIS Cadden’s big strength is his running power – but the Oxford United full back wants Fleetwood Town to be doing the chasing tomorrow.

Karl Robinson’s side have staged late comebacks in their last three matches, including coming from 2-0 and 3-2 down to draw with Coventry City last weekend.

While it has shown plenty of spirit, it would be preferable to strike the first blow themselves – the U’s have led for just 15 minutes in their last four Sky Bet League One matches.

Cadden said: “It would be nice instead of chasing a game.

“But that’s football. We’re a good team and I’d be more worried if we were not playing well.

“You look around the dressing room and you’ve got Cam Brannagan, (Alex) Gorrin, James Henry in front of me, Tariqe (Fosu).

“I could name everyone, they’re good players and it feels as if we’ve got enough in the changing room to go on a run.”

The 22-year-old has played every minute of United’s opening six league games, but has been rested for the cup ties.

It is in an effort to help the defender acclimatise to English football, where the fixture list can be more congested than north of the border.

Cadden, who only made 25 appearances for Motherwell last season, said: “It’s crazy – sink or swim.

“The amount of games is a lot different to what I’m used to but I think I’m adapting well.

“I’m recovering and you need to get your life right off the pitch for the amount of games that are coming.

“You have to get your head around the matches coming thick and fast.

“For example, after Bristol Rovers you have to get over it straight away because there’s another game on the Tuesday.

“You need to get over games quicker, you can’t dwell on it into the Monday or Tuesday.

“That’s one thing I’ve done, you analyse a game and then put it to rest and look forward.”

He added: “I’ve loved every minute. It’s a new challenge against different opponents.

“I’m just trying to absorb it all and really enjoy it.”

United’s chances tomorrow would be significantly improved by a tighter defensive display.

But Cadden will still be looking to attack from full back.

He said: “One of my main strengths is running power and that’s what I try to do.

“You try to play to your strengths and if I see a space I’ll run into it.

“It’s instinctive.”
