Oxford United have signed winger Oussama Zamouri on deadline day for a short-term deal.

The 23-year-old was a free agent and had a trial with the U’s last month before completing the paperwork this morning.

Once international clearance has been gained, it is thought the Moroccan-born forward will initially be involved with the squad’s under 23 side, having been given the No 30 squad number.

He told the club’s website: “I’m a big fan of English football and when I heard of Oxford’s interest I came over, took a look and was really impressed not just by the club but everyone here.

“I think I’m quite a technical player and want to do well here. “

Zamouri’s experience has come in the Netherlands.

He came through the youth ranks at Almere, SBV Vitesse and FC Utrecht, before moving to Telstar in 2016.

After two seasons he moved on to FC Dordrecht 12 months ago, going on to score nine goals in 30 appearances in the second tier.
