CHINNOR put in a battling display as they were beaten 17-5 in a hard-fought friendly at Championship club London Scottish.
Played over two 30-minute sessions and a 20-minute period, the Thame-based side conceded all of their points in the opening third at Richmond Athletic Ground.
But the National League 1 outfit recovered well and caused their hosts problems.
Tries from Lewis Wynne and Dan Barnes, which were converted by Harry Shephard, who also kicked a penalty, helped Scottish into a 17-0 lead after 28 minutes.
Chinnor kept their hosts at bay for the remainder of the match, while Kieran Goss and Willie Ryan went close.
They were rewarded in the final period when Charley Robinson was driven over for an unconverted try.
Banbury continued their South West 1 East preparations when beating Towcestrians by five tries to four.
