ALEX Gorrin’s run of bookings this season is not a cause for concern, says boss Karl Robinson.

The midfielder has been yellow-carded in all four Sky Bet League One games.

It means he is just one away from a suspension already, with the cut-off for five yellows still three months away.

But Robinson believes it is an occupational hazard for a player who was signed to break up opposition attacks.

He said: “It’s just the fact that he puts in more tackles than anybody else.

“Weirdly there were three or four tackles which went in on Tuesday in the Burton game that didn’t get anything and his tackle was nowhere near as bad.

“I think Cameron Brannagan had the same thing last year. It’s nothing I’m worried about.

“We’ve got lot of cover in that area.

“When we lost players last season we didn’t have much cover to cope with the suspensions.

“We feel we have a good enough cover to cope with losing a player for a game.”

One mitigating factor for Gorrin, who is a slight doubt for tomorrow’s game at Bristol Rovers with a tight hamstring, is adjusting to English football.

He and Chris Cadden were teammates at Motherwell last season, where both made just 25 appearances.

Robinson said: “The big thing for the Scottish boys is they’re not used to this intensity.”

Gorrin was booked eight times last season and sent off once.
