ONE of Oxford United's summer striker targets has moved elsewhere in Sky Bet League One.
Boss Karl Robinson revealed Ched Evans was on his wish-list during pre-season, having consulted with supporters about the move.
But the trail ran cold and the U's effectively turned their attentions elsewhere late last month.
Geography was key, with the 30-year-old wanting to stay up north.
And Fleetwood Town have now announced Evans has signed permanently from Sheffield United.
It marks a return to play for Joey Barton, having scored 18 goals for the Cod Army on loan last season.
United are still looking to fill two spots in their squad for strikers, with Robinson saying on Saturday he was hopeful one could be finalised this week.
