FORMER Milton Keynes Dons trainee Gedeon Okito has signed for Banbury United.

The left-sided defender, 22, spent three seasons at Dunstable Town and has done well for the Puritans this summer.

Boss Mike Ford told the club’s website: “Gedeon has impressed in

pre-season games and has fitted into the team well. He is a really good addition to our squad.”

Elsewhere, centre back Jamie Essex has re-signed for Thame United.

  • DIDCOT Town lost 3-2 to Shrivenham in a pre-season friendly played at Cirencester Town.

Cam McNeill and Luke Carnell were on target for the Railwaymen, but Antonio Gerrish (2) and Josh Morse won it for Shrivenham.

  • MICHAEL Philpott scored a last-minute goal to give Heyford Athletic victory in the Jim Newman Cup.

The Oxfordshire Senior League side beat hosts Clanfield 85 to lift the trophy.

Sam Jenkins fired Athletic in front in the first half, but Kevin Davies equalised 20 minutes from time.

A penalty shoot-out looked on the cards, but Philpott struck the decisive goal with the final attack of the game.
