OXFORD City Stars have re-signed netminder Mark Duffy.
The fans’ favourite returns to Oxpens for his fourth campaign following a short stint at Bracknell Hornets last season.
Duffy joins Olly Shone in putting pen to paper after the sharp-shooter agreed to end a nine-year spell at Bristol Pitbulls to join Oxford.
The ex-England youth player has scored 52 goals in the last two seasons and is hoping for more of the same with his new club.
“I’m excited to get going in Oxford and I hope that I can bring something to the team,” he said.
“Obviously I’ve played against the Stars during my time at Bristol and I’ve always thought Oxford are a tough team to face.
“To have the chance to play for the team and make the step up from Bristol is a good opportunity and I’m hopeful I can have a positive impact.”
Duffy was similarily pleased to agree a deal with Stars which will see him go head-to-head with Milan Ronai for the No 1 position.
“I’m delighted to return to Oxford,” Duffy said.
“I feel like it’s my second home.
“It was a real shame to leave last season but, in the circumstances, it was the best thing for me.
“When I got the chance to come back it was such an easy decision.”
