A TEAM of youngsters from Miss Poppy’s Gymnastics Club starred in their first competition, bringing home an impressive 17 medals.

A group of 20 competed in the UK Gymnastics National Level 10+9 in Milton Keynes.

The boys team dominated the Level 10 (eight-year-old) category.

Ethan Poon won triple gold on the floor, high bar and parallel bar. He also took silver on the vault.

Cameron Waltho landed silver on the high bars, vault and bronze on the floor.

In the level 10 (six-years-old) vault, Emily Longmate won gold, Jovie Pearce Poyser silver, with Amaya Yusuff and Emily West claiming bronze.

Madison Davies clinched silver in the seven-year-old category.

In the level 9 (seven-year-old) event, Zofia Rozycka took home silver medals on the floor and bars, with Freya Newman winning bronze on the latter.

Sienna Carbon won silver in the eight-year-old category.

In the level 9 (ten-year-old) competition, Faye Sturrock produced a near flawless routine to claim silver.

Club owner, Poppy Smith was delighted with the success.

“All these gymnasts were complete beginners seven months ago when I first opened Miss Poppy’s Gymnastics,” she said.

“They all performed with maturity and grace. The age groups were strong so medals were a bonus.”
