JACK Goodwin has been crowned a national champion.

The Bicester Tri member dominated proceedings to win the British Standard Distance Triathlon event, landing the under 20 crown in Leeds.

Goodwin was 17th overall, beating his nearest rival Jack Powis by 35 seconds as he finished in 2hrs 5mins 53secs.

Clubmate Simon Barnaby also landed a place on the podium, coming third in the 30-34 age group.

Martyn Lever and Stella Lever enjoyed top-ten finishes in their respective 60-64 races.

Bicester also had youngsters competing at the Yorkshire event.

Oliver Conway was seventh in the TS3, with Zofia Conway 35th in the TS2.

Hugo Jinks, Edward Jollife and Jamie Conway were 15th, 54th and 59th respectively in the youth races.

Meanwhile, Fran Whyte took on the 1,500m river swim, 36km mountain bike and 10k run at the XTerra Belgium Triathlon.

She finished in 4hrs 10mins 50secs to come fourth in the 40-44 age group, helping her secure qualification for the AG ITU Cross Tri event in Almere 2020.

Elsewhere, Kate Williams’s performance at the SWYD Triathlon in Barry earned the Abingdon & Vale member a place on the Great Britain team for the ITU Sprint Distance World Championships in Canada next year.
