HEADINGTON continue to dominate Division 1 of the Oxford & District League.

A comprehensive whitewash of West Witney, who started the match as top-flight leaders, further displayed their title credentials.

Only one rink was close as Headington opened up a three-and-a-half point lead.

Their nearest challengers are Carterton, who went second courtesy of a 6-0 success over Witney Town.

The other Division 1 fixture saw Witney Mills leapfrog Watlington after a 5-1 win.

Adderbury moved second in Division 2 with a game in hand on the leaders after thrashing Chipping Norton 6-0.

City & County remain top, but saw their lead cut after being pushed hard by Charlbury before winning 4-2, thanks to an 11-shot win from Chris Lewis’s rink.

The week’s surprise result came in Division 3, where hosts Hanborough registered their first win of the season against previously-unbeaten Bicester 4½-1½.

Jim Gow’s 21-shot win for Banbury Central proved in vain as they lost 4-2 at home to Shiplake.

Graham Kennedy’s rink were on song for the victors, winning their match by 19 shots.

Woodstock went top of Division 4 after beating Blackbird Leys 5-1, helped by a number of their opponents arriving late due to traffic problems.

Burford and West Oxford are hot on their heels, however, and have games in hand on the leaders.
