FORMER Wales international Will Harries has signed for Chinnor.

The 32-year-old, who can play across the back three, joins from Greene King IPA Championship club Ealing Trailfinders.

Harries, who scored a try in the Championship Cup final against London Irish earlier this month, has three Wales caps to his name, making his debut against New Zealand in 2010.

He has also represented his country in Rugby sevens, most notably at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Chinnor’s director of rugby Matt Williams is thrilled to have Harries on board for his side's second season in National League 1.

He told the club: “I’m absolutely delighted with the capture of Will both as a player, but also the experience and understanding he will bring to our backline.

“Will is incredibly knowledgeable, but also a genuinely nice bloke with it. I can’t wait to tap into his thought process.”

Harries, who has also played for Newport Gwent Dragons, Northampton Saints and Bedford Blues, added: “I’m really looking forward to starting a new challenge with Chinnor and seeing how far the team Matt has put together can go.

“It feels like an exciting moment for the club and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”

Harries is Chinnor’s fourth new signing after the arrivals of Nick Selway, Joe Rees and Camilo Parilli-Ocampo.

Eleven players from the 2018/19 squad were also retained last week.
