DIDCOT Town have appointed Jamie Heapy as their new first-team manager.

The record appearance holder for the club takes over from Andy Ballard, who quit to take on the No 2 role at Oxford City.

Heapy ammassed 848 appearances for Didcot as a player before stepping up to the role of joint manager with fellow club legend Ian Concannon in 2013.

The duo guided the Railwaymen to the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history in 2015, before both resigned shortly after.

Heapy has most recently been at Banbury United, but returns to Didcot, where he will be assisted by Paul Bedwell.

He joins from Milton United and is no stranger to Didcot himself, making more than 200 appearances for the club.

Meanwhile, fellow South League Division 1 side Kidlington have announced Julian McCalmon will continue as their manager next season.

The rest of his coaching staff will be unveiled in the near future.
