ARDLEY United recorded a vital 4-1 victory at home to Abingdon United on Tuesday night.
The success was a huge boost in their battle to avoid relegation from the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division, taking them seven points clear of the drop zone.
However, they had to do things the hard way after falling behind.
Things looked bright for Ardley when the visitors were reduced to ten men just before
half-time with the score goalless.
But Abingdon then went ahead early in the second period to stun the hosts.
Ardley were not trailing for long, however, with George Smith equalising moments after the opener.
Conor Harris then converted a penalty to put the home side ahead for the first time.
And the same player doubled his tally to make it 3-1.
Tobias London wrapped up victory late on to complete a vital victory.
Ardley host Holmer Green on Saturday.
