BANBURY United booked their place in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup final after a 1-0 win over Ardley United last night.
Mike Ford’s side, who on Saturday host Biggleswade Town in the Evo-Stik South League Premier Division Central, will now face either North Leigh or Oxford City on Tuesday, April 30.
The only goal of the game came on 65 minutes when George Nash set up Jack Finch to drill home from just outside the area.
Hellenic League Premier Division side Ardley, who matched their opponents for large periods, tried in vain to find an equaliser.
But their bid was not helped when the officials refused to allow them to make a late substitution, saying the player in question, Tony Ebdon, had not been listed on the teamsheet, despite Ardley proving that he had been.
The Oxfordshire FA have been contacted about the incident.
