MAN Of Steel was among three local winners at the first Kingston Blount Racing Club meeting of the year.

Trained by Alan Hill a stone’s throw away at Aston Rowant, the ten-year-old floored odds-on shot Templebraden in the Brentham Cricket Club-sponsored Mens Open.

With Dale Peters aboard, he hit the front three out and held on by a neck from the favourite.

Dabinett Moon scored for Chipping Norton trainer Fran Marriott in the Friends of Kingston Blount Ladies Open.

The mare teamed up with Claire Hardwick, who had piloted 16 of her 17 wins, to hold off Brackloon High by three-quarters of a length after a terrific duel.

The successes on home soil were completed by Loveyoutothemoon in the Woodway Farm Restricted over two and a half miles.

The 14/1 outsider came home ten lengths clear under Tabitha Worsley.

A delighted Tetsworth trainer Lynn Redman said: “She has so much ability – but it’s whether or not she decides to use it.

“She loves it here – we can’t travel her and we only arrived ten minutes before declarations closed!”
