OXFORDSHIRE’s chances of staying up were helped by a 23-16 win at Nottinghamshire in Division 1 of the BDO Inter-Counties Championship.
The Ladies’ B team got the visitors off to a good start with a 4-2 success.
Babs Manning, lady of the match Jaine Telling, debutant Emily Baldwin and Sue Burns were all victorious.
Once again the Men’s B team excelled.
Rob Adnams and Pete Smith came out on top early, before a run of six wins on the bounce.
Mark Laverack, Terry Wood, Brandon Richardson, Darren Hammond, Dan Smith and man of the match Simon Tricker put the visitors in charge.
Andrew Quinn took the last point to seal a 9-3 win which gave Oxfordshire a 13-5 lead overnight.
Kim Ledbury and Deta Hedman were the only Ladies’ A players to contribute points.
But despite losing 7-5, the Men’s A did enough to secure the overall victory.
Man of the match Preben Krabben, Geordie Grant, Kevin Lowe, Sean Holley and Simon Key all won.
