BEN West produced a magnificent performance to finish second in the under 20 race at the British Cross Challenge in Dundonald, Belfast.
The former Bicester AC runner, who still lives in the town, clocked 19mins 7secs over the 5km course, finishing just two seconds behind winner Zakariya Mahamed.
The race also doubled as a home international, with West competing for England.
Meanwhile, Bicester Tri’s Mary Winks represented Team Police in the Halton Cross Country fixture against the RAF, finishing in 40.35.
Clubmate Laurence Blair set a personal best of 1.32.31 at the Winter Windsor Half Marathon.
