BICESTER made it six wins in a row when beating hosts Slough 37-23 in a thrilling Southern Counties North contest.

The victory saw the side, who lost their opening four games, climb to fourth in the table.

Tries from Pete Howard (2) and Ollie Dawkins, with Josh Wordsworth kicking a conversion and a penalty, saw the sides locked at 20-20 at the break.

But Bicester’s Peter Tarrega, Wordsworth, who converted his own try, and Ollie Cassidy crossed in the second half to secure victory.

Second-placed Wallingford lost 16-14 at home to leaders Windsor.

Ian Jeffreys crossed in the first half for the hosts, Ralph Smith converting, before a penalty try ensured a losing bonus point.

Basement boys Littlemore remain without a point after a 53-7 defeat at Marlow.

In Southern Counties South, Grove lost 46-14 at home to high-flying Frome.

Guy Nicholl and Joe Bellinger went over for the hosts, Alex McCarthy converting.

Didcot bounced back to beat Oxford 22-12 away from home.

The south Oxfordshire side headed into the BB&O Premier contest on the back of a 13-0 defeat against Milton Keynes the previous week.

But they took the lead on ten minutes, when Conner McCaffery dived over.

Cameron Arnott also kicked a penalty, but Didcot trailed 12-8 at the break.

However, the second half belonged to the hosts, with Chris Newson and Charlie Ellis diving over, Josh Witts converting both, as they climbed into the top five.

Gosford All Blacks took advantage of Oxford’s defeat to climb to second after beating Hungerford 27-0 away from home.

In the Championship, leaders Chipping Norton edged hosts Abingdon 22-20 in a top-of-the-table clash.

Tom Goffe, Joe Murrel and Matty Wheeler crossed for the victors, with Dan Lightfoot kicking two conversions and a penalty.

The north Oxfordshire side now have a four-point cushion over their nearest rivals.

Third-placed Faringdon lost 20-19 at Winslow.
