RICKY Holmes has not travelled with the Oxford United squad for their Emirates FA Cup clash at Plymouth Argyle.
The winger has been receiving treatment on a back problem and will not be risked at Home Park for the second-round clash.
But U’s boss Karl Robinson is hoping Holmes will be back for next week’s Sky Bet League One game at Peterborough United.
“Ricky doesn’t make the trip,” he said.
“We could have rushed him back, but we are playing well and there is no need to do that – although I don’t have many options on the bench to change things.”
Back-up goalkeeper Jack Stevens will join the squad with Jonathan Mitchell unavailable, while Owen James comes in for the cup-tied Harvey Bradbury.
Yann Songo’o is expected to be named in Plymouth’s team.
The defender played in the 2-0 defeat at Shrewsbury Town despite a groin injury.
Although he appeared to aggravate the problem in the second half, he should be fit.
