TRIATHLON & DUATHLON: Eight Bicester Tri members are competing for Great Britain in the European Championships.

The event in Ibiza runs over a fortnight and kicked-off with the duathlon.

Stella Lever (5th 60-64), Christopher Finister (11th 45-49) and Simon Emmerson (19th 45-49) raced over sprint distance, while Kritter Williams (15th 30-34) competed in the standard.

Bicester Tri’s Simon Barnaby won the Windsor Autumn Standard Distance Duathlon (8.7k run, 40k bike, 4.4k run) in 1.50.39.

Mike Elms, of Alchester, was 17th at the Dorney Duathlon (5k run, 20k bike, 5k run).

ATHLETICS: Alchester’s Ian Hunter competed at the Abingdon Marathon and completed his 12th sub-three hour time over the distance in 2.56.41.

Clubmate Richard Francis was 14th in the Ampthill Trophy.

RUGBY UNION: Bicester earned their first win when beating High Wycombe 24-12 in Southern Counties North.

Christian Mann, Jos Edwards, who slotted two conversions, Charlie Bethell and Josaia Korobiau went over.

HOCKEY: Bicester lost 3-0 at Wallingford 2nd in Trysports Three Counties League Division 1.

Bicester 3rd were edged out 2-1 by Maidenhead 5th, Lorraine Brickell netting, in Division 5.

MARTIAL ARTS: Steven Duplock, from Bicester, won a gold and two bronze medals at the Tang Soo Do World Championships in Watford.

POOL: KEA Legends made an emphatic start in the Bicester Advertiser Pool League, beating Ex’s Rejects 8-1.
