TONY Hobbs claimed victory in an ODAA open match on the River Thames at Medley.

The Drennan Oxford angler, pictured with his haul, drew top peg below Godstock lock on a wet and windy day and had mainly roach at 13m on pole and maggot over groundbait for a weight of 22lb 14oz 0drms.

Teammates Tom Hobbs (22.11.0) and Darren Scott (21.01.0) were second and third respectively.

Bread proved to be the answer when North Oxford AS hosted Kidlington AS on the Wolfson College stretch of the Cherwell.

North Oxford’s Dave Scott-Picton had a net of roach to head the field with 13.4.0, with clubmates Martin Robinson (8.6.0) and Maurice Winstone (7.15.0) second and third respectively.
