DONNINGTON started the new league season in style with a 6-0 whitewash over Headington Conservative Club, writes PETE EWINS.
Ladies champion Jenny Florey (5,260), Melissa Stanbridge (6,760), Dennis Atkins (10,810) and Dave Tooke all won their singles.
Tooke then combined with Florey, while Stanbridge teamed up with Atkins to win the doubles and completed a big victory.
There was another whitewash when Oracle’s A team thumped their B side.
In Division 1, summer champions Berinsfield got off to a good start with a 4-2 win at West Oxford Democrats Club.
John Patey (7,480) shone for Democrats, but Berinsfield’s Phil McFarland (9,790, break 5,200) was the top-scorer on the night.
Vikings beat Gladiators 5-1. Allan Lacey (6,590), Alan Oliver (6,690), Mike Jones and Ian Moss won the singles, before the pairs were shared.
