ARDLEY United were left stunned after seeing a three-goal lead slip in a 5-4 defeat at home to Fairford Town.
The loss is the side’s second straight reverse in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.
Ardley will bid to return to winning ways at Bishops Cleeve on Saturday.
Against Fairford, who were bottom before the game, Craig Adey’s side led 3-0 after 33 minutes, thanks to goals from Greg Hackett (2) and Tobias London.
The visitors were shell-shocked, but reduced the deficit before half-time through Connor Thompson.
Ardley’s lead was cut to one when Mason Thompson struck and the same player scored twice more to complete his hat-trick.
The hosts got themselves back in it with ten minutes to go as Jordan Moore equalised to make it 4-4.
But John Thomas smashed home the visitors’ fifth to leave Ardley stunned.
