KARL Robinson has a simple message for Oxford United fans travelling to Roots Hall tomorrow: don’t change.

The head coach has come in for some bitter criticism from the terraces, especially after Tuesday’s 98th-minute defeat to Luton Town.

It extended the side’s worst start to a league season for 18 years and kept them second bottom in Sky Bet League One.

Afterwards Robinson sought to bear the brunt of the flak, which could return tomorrow if the slump is not ended at Roots Hall.

But the U’s boss says he does not take it personally and views the reaction as a measure of their commitment to the club.

So when asked what he would say to those travelling fans heading to Essex, he said: “Don’t change. I know how much they love the club, it’s obvious.

“The frustration and the criticism I get is only because they care for the club.

“Criticism doesn’t really affect me, positivity doesn’t really either. I don’t get too attached to the emotions of that side of the game.

“What affects me more than any criticism is the fact we’re not winning for the people.

“That is the bit which hurts me more, not the criticism we get.

“It’s the fact that we can’t win for them and you know you’re good at what you do.

“We just need that little bit of luck and only hard work can promote that.”
