ATHLETICS: Amber Parker was crowned Bicester AC’s under 15 girls field athlete of the year at the club’s annual summer awards.

Her season included national graded efforts in all four recognised throwing disciplines.

Amelia Cox clinched the track performer of the year award.

Isla Bohannon and Freya McGinlay were named the under 13 track and field winners respectively.

Samuel Rayson scooped both under 15 boys’ awards, with younger brother Kyle claiming the under 11 track honour.

Ben West was presented with the outstanding contribution award.

Under 17/20 athletes Tia Brown, Christopher Bernard and Conor Stark all collected special awards.

HOCKEY: Bicester Ladies came out on the wrong side of a ten-goal thriller when losing 6-4 at home to newly-promoted Abingdon.

The visitors found themselves 3-0 up at half-time in the Trysports Three Counties League Division 1 fixture.

Bicester rallied and reduced the deficit through Beth Forrest.

But Abingdon were quick to respond and added two further goals to make it 5-1.

The visitors added No 6 in between two goals for Nicky Willers for Bicester, who scored a fourth late on through Kerri Lancaster.

Their ladies 3rd team drew 1-1 at Thame 3rd in Division 5, Amy Willis equalising.

RUGBY UNION: Bicester are still searching for their first win in Southern Counties North after losing 41-16 at home to Windsor.

The north Oxfordshire side trailed 17-6 at the break, Charlie Bethell kicking two penalties for the hosts.

Windsor raced into a 34-6 lead, before Bicester reduced the deficit thanks to unconverted tries from Jordan Warner and Peter Howard.

But a late penalty try saw Windsor add to their tally.
