OXFORD City Stars have called on fans to pack the Oxpens rink for their derby against Swindon Wildcats 2nd tomorrow (6.15).
The home side enter the match unbeaten after a strong start to the new EIHA Division 2 South campaign as they seek to retain their championship crown.
Lord Mayor Colin Cook is attending the match as a guest of the club.
And Stars are also offering season ticket holders at Oxford United and Oxford City FC reduced entry to the match.
Captain Darren Elliott said: “It really does make a difference when the rink is full, and the fans are brilliant at being an extra man.
“The backing we get from the fans is first class and with Sunday being a local derby we know what it means to them.
“The players are fully focused on putting in another good performance and we’re all looking forward to it.
“It would be great if the fans could come along on Sunday and get behind us again.”
Cllr Cook said: “I was delighted to receive an invitation from Oxford City Stars to attend this season’s derby match with Swindon Wildcats. I would encourage Oxford residents of all ages to come along to support their local team.”
