TWO goals from Greg Hackett gave Ardley United a welcome 2-1 home victory over Flackwell Heath as their topsy-turvy season continued.

This midweek success came as a welcome relief for Craig Adey’s men following their 5-0 drubbing at Holmer Green last Saturday.

Ardley are still finding life difficult in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

But their third victory in nine games has pulled them away from the relegation zone.

Ardley took the lead at home to Flackwell against the run of play with a smart finish from Hackett in the 37th minute.

The visitors equalised in the 53rd minute through Sodike Anyadike-Thompson.

But Hackett clinched the points for Ardley 20 minutes from time with his second goal.

On Saturday, Ardley were on the receiving end as Holmer Green romped home thanks to a hat-trick for Jamie West and goals from Ryan Parsons and Joffy Cox.

This Saturday, they are without a game, having been knocked out in the previous round of the FA Vase by Holyport.

Meanwhile, Bicester Town, who did not have a match last week due to the Emirates FA Cup, return to action in Division 1 East by hosting Thame Rangers.

Bicester are bottom of the table, having lost all three games.
