FRANKIE Oliver confirmed his promise with an outstanding swim when Bicester Blue Fins played host to Banbury and Kidlington & Gosford clubs in a level four long-distance meet.
The 12-year-old produced a remarkable personal best time of 10mins 57.55secs for the 800 metres freestyle.
A total of Bicester 35 swimmers, from across the age groups, competed in the event.
This included three members of the youth academy, the youngest being Joshua Scrivener, nine, who competed in his first 800m race, winning his heat in 14.07
Other personal bests came from Josh Rowland, 18, Ryan McKenzie, 17, Tim Walker 13, Iona McLellan, 13, Grace Bradney, 13 and Lauren McKenzie, 14.
Head coach Craig Oliver said: “We saw swimmers who dared to dream big, dive in and do some incredible times.”
Meanwhile, a team of Blue Fins members, aged from nine to 12, attended the Thame level 4 junior development meet.
Competing against teams from Thame, Didcot, Witney and Newport Pagnell, the youngsters achieved some excellent results.
Yasmin Preston, 12, led the way with four gold medals, smashing her pbs in every race.
She said: “I am most proud of my butterfly as I knocked over six seconds off my entry time.”
