LANGFORD Village easily won the Bicester Primary Schools Cross Country Championships which attracted 500 competitors.
The cornerstone of Langford’s success at the Bicester School were wins in the year 3-4 boys and year 5-6 girls team events.
They just missed out on the year 1-2 boys event which was won by Fritwell, who also won the year 5-6 boys’ award.
Defending champions Bure Park had the consolation of winning the year 1-2 girls’ prize, with the year 3-4 girls honour going to Kings Meadow. Owen Stocker, from Southwold, took the year 5-6 boys race, beating Xander Cameron (Bure Park), with Fritwell’s Archie Trotman third.
Holly Keeble (Bure Park) lifted the the year 5-6 girls event ahead of Daisy Bowler (Fritwell).
The year 3-4 boys race went to Kings Meadow’s Jimmy Metcalfe, ahead of Langford’s George Leach and St Mary’s Daniel Holden White.
Kings Meadow’s Ella Peng took the year 3-4 girl’s race. Erin Horseman (Launton) was second, with Langford’s Evie Petry third.
The year 1-2 girls race was taken by Eva Oregon (Langford). Kacey Pickup (Bure Park) was runner-up ahead of Isabelle Goddard (Chesterton).
Fritwell took first and third in the year 1-2 boys event through Harry Town and Jamie Simpson. South-wold’s Toby March was second.
