BICESTER AC celebrated a year of individual success at their summer presentation evening.

Max Nicolle, who now boasts the under 15 boys’ 3,000m club record after an impressive performance at a Watford open meeting, won the track-athlete-of-the-year accolade for his age group.

Another middle-distance runner, Ben West, also captured a long-standing Bicester record, when breaking the under 17 men’s 1,500m time.

He also enjoyed success on the road, clinching the Mota-vation Series’ under 19 title, and was named Bicester’s under 17 track athlete of the year.

Samuel Rayson enjoyed a profitable evening, picking up the under 13 track and field accolades.

His impressive performances included a time of 13secs in the 75m hurdles, which sees him sit 34th in the national rankings for his age group.

Amber Parker was rewarded for her outstanding throwing form, with the under 15 field athlete prize.

She competed at the Kettering Open at the weekend, setting three personal bests, including club records in the hammer (30.05m) and shot (8.95m).

Tia Brown, who ran sub-14secs in the 100m this year, collected the under 15 girls’ track athlete prize.

Georgia Usher picked up the under 13 equivalent after her impressive efforts in the 1,500m and high jump.

The field prize for the same age group went to Maisie Silvester for her exploits in the shot.

Meanwhile, Derek Colden won the overall contribution to the club award.

l ENTRIES are open for the Andy Reading 10k Memorial Road Race in Chesterton on Sunday, December 10.

Proceeds go to the Hummingbird Cancer Support and Therapy Centre in Launton.

The event, jointly organised by Alchester RC and Bicester AC, is held in memory of Andy Reading, a former member of both clubs.

Entry is £13 for runners affiliated to England Athletics and £15 for unaffiliated competitors, while the fun run is £3.
