SAM White marked his Bicester AC debut with victories in the under 15 100m and 200m at the Oxfordshire Junior League event in Horspath.

It turned out to be a good day for the club in the age group.

Joseph Rayner won the B-string 100m with a personal best of 13.40.

Max Nicolle made the transition from cross country to the track look seamless when winning the 1,500m with a best of 4mins 48.04secs, while he also triumphed in the B-string 300m and javelin.

Freddie Taylor made it a double Bicester celebration in the 1,500m, winning the B event.

In the under 17 competition, Ben West won the 1,500m in a personal best and national grade 2 time, falling just short of Mark Curzon’s 20-year-old club record when crossing in 4.11.04.

Ben Groves and Samuel Raynor enjoyed a successful day in the under 13 age group.

Raynor won the 75m hurdles with a best and grade 3 time of 13.63.

Groves replicated that success with an effort of 1.35m to finish third in the high jump, before winning the shot.

Joshua Parker clinched the B-string 200m with a time of 30.5.

However, victories proved hard to come by in the girls’ events, with their only wins in the B events.

Ines Paiget-Thompson (under 13 1,500m), Amy Gould (under 17 800m) and Molly Acton (under 17 shot) all triumphed.

Acton also took second and third in the under 17 800m and 300m respectively, while Gould was in the top three in the 1,500m.

In the same age group, Lauren Garside was second in the shot.

Rushani Arumugham produced a grade 4 effort in taking second in the under 15 long jump with a personal best of 4.59.

Amber Parker and Ruby Silvester came third in the under 13 discus and shot respectively.

In the under 11 quadkid events, Alex Nicolaides finished fourth in the boy’s contest, in which teammate Reuben Mitchell starred in the 600m, while Hollie Offord was sixth in the girls.

BEN West scooped the best junior male cross country prize at Bicester AC’s winter presentation awards evening.

The teenager enjoyed an excellent season, which was celebrated at the Bicester ex Serviceman’s club.

West finished with three under 17 titles – the Oxford Mail Cross Country League, Chiltern League Division 2 and the Oxfordshire County Championships.

He also came 25th in the national Inter County Cross Country Championships.

Millie Couzens received the junior female award, following a fine winter where she was awarded county vest at both the National Schools and Inter County Championships.

The under 13 runner also won a round of the Oxford Mail Cross Country League.

Max Nicolle clinched the most improved performer of the year accolade after landing third place in the under 15 age group of both the county championships and Division 2 of the Chiltern League.

Freddie West won the best contribution prize, while Owen Stocker and Katie Grove were awarded the boy and female member of the year prizes.

Imogen Cox took the accolade for best performances for an under 11.
