BICESTER lost their unbeaten record in losing 3-0 at second-placed South Berkshire in the South League.

The visitors struggled to create chances in the Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 clash, while the home side capitalised on errors.

South Berkshire took an early lead and doubled their advantage towards the end of the half.

Bicester goalkeeper Nathan Elliott kept the score down, while the visitors improved after the break.

But they conceded a third to a penalty stroke and they were unable to convert their own late on.

A failure to settle at the beginning of the match resulted in two quick goals for the home side.

Bicester’s pressure did not herald a reply before the break, but eventually they broke through, when Doug Beattie finished off a slick penalty corner.

Chris Birch slotted home from a narrow angle to make it 2-2, but they were unable to take the lead and were undone by two late goals.

In Division 6 of the Trysports Three Counties League, Bicester Ladies 4th were beaten 3-1 at Thame 3rd.

Trailing 2-0 at half-time, the visitors improved after the break.

Georgia Mann reduced the deficit, but Thame grabbed a third.
