TEACHERS cooked against the clock in a school assembly as a television chef came to visit.
Restaurateur James Tanner, who was a regular competitor on Ainsley Harriott's show Ready Steady Cook, shared his skills with staff and children at The Manor Preparatory School near Abingdon.
He visited on Wednesday as part of a tour with Independents by Sodexo, which caters to private schools including Manor Prep.
Mr Tanner's day began with overseeing a Ready Steady Cook-inspired challenge in assembly, in which two teams of teachers went against the clock to cook a dish.
He then spent time talking to children about different types of seafood and sustainable fishing, before serving up fresh fish goujons at lunch.
The celebrity chef then joined in the school's cookery club, where pupils cooked cheese and rosemary scones, sticky glazed sausages, sausage rolls with a puff pastry twist and a tarte tatin.
He was signed to Sodexo as an ambassador for fresh, seasonal and sustainable food.
