Soap fans face another week of schedule shake-ups as Emmerdale and Coronation Street are bumped from their usual slots.
The popular soaps are often moved, extended, or axed from the ITV schedule due to sports or major events.
Last week, the Coronation Street and Emmerdale schedule was interrupted by the National Television Awards (NTAs).
Wow, we can’t believe it - we won the biggie! ✨ We are beyond grateful to everyone who voted, it really means so much to us! 🫶 #Emmerdale #NTA #TeamEmmerdale pic.twitter.com/jeBd9NQ1oy

This week, viewers can expect more disruptions to Emmerdale and Coronation Street schedules due to the EFL Carabao Cup.
So you're not caught out, here are the episodes affected this week.
All the Emmerdale and Coronation Street schedule changes this week
Emmerdale and Coronation Street usually air on ITV1 at 8pm and 8.30pm, Monday to Friday, in what is known as the “soaps power hour” (introduced in January 2026).
However, this week, the ITV1 favourites will not air on Wednesday (September 16) due to live football coverage.
Manchester United will take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the EFL Carabao Cup, with the match airing on ITV1 and ITVX from 7.30pm to 10.25pm.
Former Coronation Street favourite lands new role next to EastEnders star
A former Coronation Street star has landed a new role just months after departing the ITV soap.
Daniel Brocklebank played vicar Billy Mayhew on Coronation Street from 2014 to 2026.
Brocklebank appeared on the ITV soap for the final time earlier this year, after his character Billy was killed in a car crash during the Corriedale crossover.
He is now set to star as Caesar Flickerman in The Hunger Games: On Stage.
The production is entering its second year at the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre.
Brocklebank said: "It’s an absolute honour to be joining the cast as Caesar Flickerman and I’m very much looking forward to being part of such an exciting cinematic yet theatrical experience.
"I was a fan of the books, and then later the films, for many years.
"I look forward to putting my spin on him.
"Plus, I’ve always thought I’d look fabulous with blue hair.
"It’s very different from any of the many stage productions I’ve done over the last 30 years so this is an exciting string to add to my bow.
"Although Caesar doesn’t use a bow of course, I’ll be leaving that to Katniss."
He will be joined by former EastEnders actor Neil McDermott, who takes on the role of Haymitch Abernathy.
McDermott said: "I’m delighted to be joining The Hunger Games: On Stage family and the world of Panem.
"It’s thrilling to be trusted with the responsibility of playing Haymitch, particularly in a year where the next installment of the film franchise focusing on Haymitch’s backstory is set to release in cinemas."
The play is based on Suzanne Collins' book of the same name, which has also spawned five films, with a sixth, The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping, set to be released in November.
The new cast begins on October 23, and tickets are on sale now via the website.
