Bradley Walsh has confirmed he won't be returning to a popular BBC show.

The TV presenter will not return to front the BBC’s revival of Blankety Blank for 2026, despite his love for the revival.

He explained that the decision was due to scheduling conflicts and a packed calendar of other projects.

"The thing is we're just doing Gladiators," he told Radio Times.

"I get a week off and then I go to rehearsals for the live Prat Pack show.

"I take The Prat Pack back on the road for a month, and then I would normally go straight into Blankety Blank.

"But at the moment, what I'm going to do is I've got other stuff which I can't announce at the moment.

"We're working on a couple of dramas and scripting, and I actually physically do not have the time."

Walsh, who has been hosting the game show since its most recent revival in 2021, described Blankety Blank as "one of my favourite shows," but said his current schedule simply doesn't allow him to continue at this time.

He said: "It's been brilliant.

"Blankety Blank has been brilliant.

"It really makes me laugh.

"It's the most fun you can have in the studio, and I just cannot at the moment work on it.

"I just have not got the time.

"I would normally go to studio October, but I'm all taken up in October and November, so I just haven't time to do it.

"Maybe next year."

With Walsh stepping away for 2026, it has been rumoured that this has prevented the show going into production this year.

As a result, Blankety Blank has been shelved for now.

The BBC has been contacted for comment.

Blankety Blank first aired in 1979, with the original run hosted by Terry Wogan and later Les Dawson.

It challenges contestants to fill in the blanks of humorous statements, hoping to match answers with a panel of celebrity guests.

The show was revived in the late 1990s and early 2000s by Paul O'Grady, who hosted as his alter-ego Lily Savage.

The latest revival began with a Christmas special in 2020 before returning as a full series in October 2021.

Before Walsh’s incarnation, the show was most recently revived in 2016 for a one-off Christmas special hosted by David Walliams.
