Blue Light Card members will be given access to special discounted days at some of the country’s top attractions with more than 55,000 tickets to become available from Monday, January 30.

The discount provider will be releasing exclusive and heavily discounted tickets to dedicated Member Days at theme parks including Alton Towers Resort and LEGOLAND Windsor Resort.

All ticket sales from these events will be donated to Blue Light Card-associated charities, working to improve the mental and physical well-being of its members.

What are Member Days and when will they take place?

On Member Days, Merlin Entertainment parks open exclusively for Blue Light Card members and their families.

This will allow members to access exclusively priced tickets, as well as complimentary parking, 20% off selected food and drink vendors, and discounted rates on resort hotel bookings, subject to availability.

Each of the Member Days will take place in March and November and the attractions will be closed to the general public, allowing members to take advantage of smaller crowds and faster services.

The events, created to give thanks to workers in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and the armed forces, will be held at Alton Towers Resort, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, Chessington World of Adventures and THORPE PARK Resort.

Tickets go on sale on Monday, January 30 at 11am and Blue Light Card members are encouraged to act quickly when the tickets become available after last year they sold out in record time.

Members can visit the Blue Light Card website to find out the specific dates available for each park, and to book tickets.

When the tickets have been released, they will be available to buy through a Blue Light Card account login.

Members will need to search for the attraction they would like to visit and click through to the ticketing page via the offer link, subject to availability.

Speaking about the special offerings, Blue Light Card CEO Tom Dalby said: “As a special thank you to the millions of individuals who keep us all safe and sound every day of the year, we’re thrilled to be bringing back our dedicated Member Days - working with Merlin Entertainment to give NHS staff, emergency service workers, social and foster carers, and military personnel a well-deserved day off.

“We know our members work incredibly hard 365 days of the year, and we want to thank them and their families for their continued dedication. This is just the start of our offering with Merlin, and we suggest that our members keep an eye out for more tickets to exclusive family-fun days out, throughout the year.

“And, to extend our token of thanks, we’re delighted to be donating all proceeds from these event days to charitable projects and initiatives that improve the mental and physical well-being of our members.”

Will Obbard, Director of Sales at Merlin Entertainments, added: “Merlin aims to create magical experiences for everyone and it is a real privilege to work with Blue Light Card to create an exclusive full day of family fun for their members who work so incredibly hard to keep us all healthy and safe. The fact that Blue Light Card is also giving the proceeds to various associated charities makes the whole scheme even more worthwhile.”
