Two teenagers have been arrested after a fatal stabbing in north London.
Police were called to a report of an assault in Caledonian Road, near the junction with Tilloch Street, Islington, at 6.49pm on Tuesday.
A man, who has not be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two men, who were arrested near the area, have been taken into custody at a north London police station.
Emergency vehicles, including a police van and ambulances, were at the scene of the incident, which was cordoned off to the public.
Scotland Yard said that “urgent” inquiries are under way to establish the identity of the dead man.
A post-mortem examination and formal identification will be arranged in due course.
Islington Police said on Twitter a Section 60 stop and search order, which allows police to search anyone in a given area, had been put in place until 3am on Wednesday, covering much of Islington, Clerkenwell, Finsbury Park and Bloomsbury.
