A 30-year-old Oxfordshire woman has shared her story of overcoming a 10-year drink and drug addiction online.
Since publicly documenting her journey to sobriety, Hannah Viney has attracted more than 30,000 social media followers.
She has also received more than 400 messages from individuals seeking advice and support for their own battles with addiction.
Ms Viney began drinking at 18, started using drugs at 20, and by 24, was in the grip of full-blown addiction.
Now, six months sober, she has "transformed" her life.
She said: "Working out who I am and how I got to my rock bottom has single-handedly been the kindest thing I’ve ever done for myself.
“You owe it to yourself to know yourself on the deepest level, and that requires time and effort."
Through her online platform, Ms Viney is keen to change perceptions of addiction.
She believes addiction is not just about daily substance use, but about addressing the deeper personal issues that fuel it.
"Addiction is not just a drink and drug problem; it’s a ‘you’ problem," she added.
"Substances provide a short-term solution to deeper personal issues. Once you accept that, surrender to sobriety, and work on yourself, true healing can begin."
Ms Viney hopes to continue to offer advice to others by documenting her journey, motivated by the "overwhelming" online response.
