Seven additional places across Bicester town centre have signed up to be part of the Safe Places scheme.

The initiative was launched by Thames Valley Police (TVP) Cherwell early last month.

The project assists those feeling anxious, scared or at risk while they are out and need support.

The police station announced the locations on their Facebook page, which are Bicester Library (Franklins House, Wesley Lane), Bicester Toys & Thorntons (Sheep Street), Cafe 103 (at The Beacon, Wesley Lane, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm, Imagex (Pioneer Square), Savoir Fare (Garth Park), Taylors Estate Agents (Market Square), and Torino Lounge (Sheep Street).

It hopes that the scheme will expand to include other towns in the Cherwell district.

It also encouraged businesses to register as a Safe Place.

They will appear on the Safe Places app and website, making them easily searchable for those in need.

To register, go to https://orlo.uk/U2FEK and contact the area coordinator.
