A new deputy commander has been appointed for the Cherwell and West Oxfordshire Local Policing Area.
Chief inspector Rob Platt has taken on the role after it was passed over to him earlier this month by chief inspector James Sullivan.
Mr Platt said: "I am excited to start my role in Cherwell & West Oxfordshire to continue the hard work tackling key areas of violence and knife crime, domestic abuse, rural crime and service to victims.
"I will be working in partnership with organisations, local businesses and the public to ensure our communities remain a safe and enjoyable place to live."
Mr Platt's police career began at West Midlands Police.
He transferred to Thames Valley Police in 2009, and his most recent role was as a detective inspector in the Cherwell and West Oxfordshire priority crime team.
