Neighbours have reacted to a murder investigation being launched in what they describe as a “quiet and lovely” residential Oxfordshire street.
Police attended a home in Mullein Road in Bicester after receiving reports of a man being injured at around 12.21pm on Wednesday (March 13).
A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene despite receiving emergency treatment by paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service.
Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit subsequently launched a murder investigation following the death.

A woman and a man, both aged in their 20s, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody at this time.
Two separate crime scenes have been set up in Mullein Road and Germander Way respectively and officers remained standing guard at both on Thursday morning.
A neighbour in Mullein Road, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke to the Oxford Mail on Thursday about what she and her partner had witnessed.
“I never saw anything until I came home because I work full-time so I wasn’t back until around 5pm last night to see action going on around there,” she said.
“I saw the police vans and that the area was all cordoned off. It is unusual to see any police action around here so I sort of slowed down to see.

“My partner saw as he works from home and saw some police cars there around midday.”
Police tape was cordoning off a house on Germander Way and a Thames Valley Police car waited outside while a force car, van and forensics tents were on Mullein Road.
The resident was shocked to see a major police investigation taking place having never experienced anything similar during her time living at the property.
“Relatively it’s a quiet sort of area and we never hear anything of that going on here,” she added.
“It’s one of the best closes around here. We never have any hassle and it's always quiet so this is quite a shock really.
“I have been here 11 years and I have never seen anything like this or untoward going on.
“It is quiet like this all day long every day as it is a nice residential area with people friendly and keeping themselves to themselves.
“Everyone knows each other but we don’t know too much if you know what I mean but we all help each other out.”
Police have confirmed that the deceased man’s next of kin have been traced and officers are offering them support.
