Three Oxfordshire towns have been shortlisted for the title of the most depressing place to live in the UK.

A national review website, iLiveHere.com, notorious for its scathing reviews, has unveiled the "most depressing" areas across Britain.

As of today (January 18), Didcot, Chipping Norton and Henley are the Oxfordshire locations listed among the most depressing places in the UK.

The scathing town reviews site has changed the emphasis for this year’s contest and wants to find the 'most depressing town' rather than just the 'worst place to live'.

Members of the public have been adding their towns which they deem as the most depressing places to live on a live poll, including areas across England, Scotland, and Wales.

Despite there already being more than 150 towns on the list, voters can still add the ones they deem suitable at the bottom of the page.

In London, Croydon, Hounslow and Shoreditch made the list of the most depressing places to live in the UK.

iLiveHere declared "bland, boring, soul-destroying mediocrity with a gaping cultural void" as the focus.
