A new chief nursing officer has been appointed at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Britta Klinck joined Oxford Health 30 years ago as a healthcare assistant, before subsequently qualifying as a registered mental health nurse in 1994.

She then progressed through various managerial roles to her current position.

She comes into her new role having most recently been deputy chief nurse, a position she has held since 2021, having previously been deputy director of nursing for mental health since 2018.

The appointment comes as the previous chief nursing officer, Marie Crofts, moves to Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board as chief nursing officer.

Ms Klinck said: "I’m delighted to be appointed to this important role, representing our fantastic and dedicated workforce, providing care for patients and their families in all the various areas of the Trust."

She added: "I look forward to working alongside colleagues to ensure patient experience, quality and outcomes remains central to everything that we do.”

Chief executive Grant Macdonald said: "Britta was an outstanding candidate in an impressive field of fellow nursing professionals from across the south of England.

"Her journey from healthcare assistant to board director is a terrific example of how we can grow and develop people through the career pathways that we offer,"

He added: "I’m very much looking forward to her joining the executive team.”
