A care home has marked World Children's Day with a day of reminiscing and visits from children.

Those at Barchester’s Glebefields care home in Banbury reflected on their pasts, enjoying childhood sweets and sharing experiences from their own youth.

General manager Nisha Shaji said: "It has been so lovely for many of them to have visits from their grandchildren and local schoolchildren."

The day was also one of learning, exploring contrasts between their infancy and that of the younger generation.

The celebration culminated with a visit from Little Sparrow Nursery Kids who thrilled residents with two stories.

Marlene, a resident at the home, said: "It's good to be a kid rather than growing up because kids are very innocent and innocence faces are admired by everyone."
